This policy explains what information is collected when you interact with this publication, how it is used, and what choices you have.

This policy applies to subscribers, readers, and customers of I Love DevOps, an independent newsletter published on Substack. It covers how I, as the publisher, handle your information. It is separate from Substack’s own Privacy Policy, which governs how Substack Inc. handles data on their platform.

2. Information Collected

Information you provide directly:

• Your email address when you subscribe to this newsletter

• Your name, if you choose to provide it

• Purchase information when you buy a digital product (processed by Gumroad or Substack, I do not store payment card details)

• Any information you share when you reply to emails, leave comments, or contact me directly

Information collected automatically by Substack: Substack collects data about how you interact with emails and the publication website, including open rates, click activity, and device information. This is governed by Substack’s Privacy Policy, not this one.

3. How Your Information Is Used

Your email address is used to send you the newsletter you subscribed to and, if applicable, to deliver digital products you have purchased.

I do not use your email address to send unrelated marketing, sell access to third-party promotions, or add you to any list you did not opt into.

If you purchase a product, your email may be used to follow up on that purchase, provide support, or send relevant product updates.

4. Sharing Your Information

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Your information may be accessible to the following service providers I use to operate this publication:

• Substack: newsletter hosting and delivery platform

• Gumroad: digital product sales and delivery

• Stripe : payment processing (via Substack’s paid subscriptions)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their handling of your data.

I may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

5. Email Communications

By subscribing, you consent to receive email communications from this publication. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by managing your subscription from your Substack account settings.

Unsubscribing removes you from future newsletter delivery. It does not delete your Substack account or any purchase records associated with your email.

6. Data Retention

Substack retains subscriber data in accordance with their own policies. If you delete your Substack account, your subscriber record is removed subject to Substack’s data deletion process.

For product purchases made through Gumroad, Gumroad retains transaction records per their own policies.

If you contact me directly by email, I retain that correspondence as long as it is relevant.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of information I hold about you.

To make a request, contact me via the contact option on this Substack page and I will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

For data held by Substack or Gumroad, you will need to contact those platforms directly.

8. Cookies and Tracking

I do not independently set cookies or run tracking scripts on this publication. Any tracking that occurs on the Substack platform is governed by Substack’s Privacy Policy.

9. Children’s Privacy

This publication is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of this publication after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
